Lesson Plan Development Strategies

Updated: Jun 15

I find it easier to create an entire Unit Plan when developing lessons for PBL. Each lesson is scaffolded to build upon the next concept. My students use science journals to take notes, record lab data, and reflect on unit assessments. The journal contains written work, vocabulary, class notes, and graphic organizers so that students can keep all information from the class in one place. Each page/section is dated, titled, and students list partners they work with for the day. The following presentation is a unit plan guide, and the unit plan is also included below.

The lesson plan was developed through a yearlong professional development through Underwriters Laboratories Xplorlabs.
